Sneak peak at some of the remarkable designs you will see…..

A little history…. The Westalee Design Tecoma Templates got their name from Leonie West, the Inventor.  Frequently inspired by the world around her Leonie had the following to say:

“As I was designing the templates I was trying to come up with a name for the them, I was standing on the back deck of my house, looking over the valley and decided that the templates (not the finished designs) looked like clouds or sheep or a mountain range. I live in a beautiful part of the world at the start of the Great Dividing Range, near the top of a mountain, Mt Evelyn, situated near The Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, Australia. Our mountains and ranges are formed from, in and around an extinct 300 million year old volcano.
Surrounded by tall trees, with views over and across hills and valleys where native plants, wildlife and birds abound. Our region of the world is beautiful and peaceful, a great place for inspiration. The name Tecoma comes from a pretty little village close to where I live and all the block names are from local flora or scenic points.”  – Leonie West

  1. Can we watch this start to finish on you tube – I am new to ruler quilting and am interested in making this!

  2. Hi Peggy,
Thank you for reaching out. Yes, one roll of TempLee Fuse will be enough for the whole project. I’ll add a file to the above post that covers the fabric requirements.
There will be 25 18″ x 18″ blocks (roughly 6-1/2″ yards)of Top Fabric, Feature Fabric, Batting and Backing. However, depending on your color scheme your feature fabric may be less if you have a different color on each block or a group of colors.

Recommended sashing 1/2″ to 1″ finished will need to be added to your fabric choice.
Feel free to reach out if need you additional information.

  3. Is this a type of quilt that is quilted block by block then assembled so there is no need for overall quilting?

    1. Hi Marsha,
Yes, this will be a Quilt As You Go project, Block by Block with final assembly at the end. We hope you enjoy this class! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

  4. This is an exciting project. Will one roll of the Temple fuse be enough for the project? Can you send the fabric requirements? I will have to order fabric and don’t want to get too far behind.
    Thank You
